    The majority of SUNY campuses share one Brightspace instance. This provides students taking courses at more than one campus easy access to all of their courses. The email address in Brightspace is associated with the campus that created your account. However, this email address may no reflect the campus where you are taking your courses. This means that all of your email notifications sent from Brightspace courses will go to your prior email address. You have the ability to update your email.

    RedShelf is the tool that is used for all SUNY Oswego inclusive access textbooks. This guide is intended for courses that are using Pearson's MyLabs. Note: Chrome is the preferred browser for accessing Pearson MyLabs from Brightspace.
    Turnitin is a tool to aid with plagiarism detection. Work submitted to Turnitin.com is reviewed compared against both institutional and global databases and flags work that may not be original. The tool also has its own inline grading function.
    Brightspace supports global student accommodations. The accommodation is then applied to all course quizzes/tests.
    The Discover tool is located on the Oswego’s Brightspace landing page. This tool allows students to find courses that allow self-enrollment.
    A zero grade can be automatically entered in the gradebook for students who fail to submit an assignment or quiz by its due date. This feature requires a future due date. It is not retroactive. At the time of the due date, any missing submissions will receive a grade of zero. You still have the ability to manually override the zero should the work be submitted later. 

    Best practice is to turn the setting on at the start of the semester. Doing so will prevent students with missing work having
