Assignments - Grading an Assignment

Overview

The purpose of this document is to provide a brief overview of how to grade an assignment.

Instructions

  1. Go to Course Tools, Assignments.

Navigation Bar

Assignment Link

  1. Find the Assignment to be graded. Click on the chevron to the right of the title to View Submissions.

View Submissions

  1. Scroll down to the list of student names and submissions. Click on the file name of the submission under the name of the Student you want to grade.  Note that depending on your settings, there may be more than one file, in which case you can click on the student name to go through the files one at a time.

  1. From this screen, there is the ability to annotate or download the assignment. Look for the toolbar above the submission for grading options.Assignment Markup Bar

  • On the right side of the screen, take note of Overall Grade and Overall Feedback for grading.

Overall Grade View

  • There is the ability to upload feedback, create video notes and attach links to share with students.

Additional Feedback Options

  • If a Rubric is added, click on the Rubric title to assess the student using the rubric.
