Course Management: Deactivating your course

Overview

Best practice is to set previous courses to inactive prior to the start of the new semester. This is to prevent any incomplete assignments from past semesters in their “Update Alert” notifications listed under the bell icon at the top of students’ Brightspace web pages.

Instructions

  1. Log-in to Brightspace.
  2. On your SUNY Oswego Landing Page, scroll down to see the list of your courses in the My Courses widget.

Note: That you can use the links at the top of My Courses widget to show only the courses from a particular semester.  Using this will make it easier to locate the courses you want to work on.
  3. To close the course, hover over the image but do not click on it.  Find the 3 dots on the upper right corner and click on the dots then Course Offering Information.
