Panopto: Adding a Panopto video in a Content module

Overview

Best practice recommends placing your Panopto videos in their relevant content module. This document will go over how faculty can use the Insert Stuff Tool in Brightspace to add a Panopto video(s) to a Create a File (Web Page) item. 

Note: Best Practice for Lecture Capture videos is to continue to have students use the Panopto Video - OSW link to access class recordings.

Instructions

  1. In Brightspace, navigate to the desired course.
  2. Click on the Content tab, located on the green navigation bar.

  3. Click on the appropriate module.
  4. Click on the blue Upload / Create menu button. Then select Create a File (Web Page).

    1. Enter the video's name in the Enter a Tile box.
    2. On the content box toolbar, click the Insert Stuff icon.

      1. In the Insert Stuff options box, select Panopto - OSW.

      2. Select the desired video then click the green Insert button.

      3. Click the blue Save and Close button.

Pro tip

Instructional text can be included on the page. Doing this can provide additional context to the video. It is also possible to add more than one video to page by using the steps outlined in 4.2 Insert Stuff.
