Setting up VitalSource Digital Learning Materials in Brightspace for Inclusive Access

Overview

In order to use the SUNY Oswego Inclusive Access program, faculty have to install a link in their course for VitalSource. Please note that in order for this to work, you need to have picked your textbook for the program prior to the deadline imposed by SUNY. 

Instructions


  1. In the Content section of your Brightspace course, go to the Add a module field and type "VitalSource Inclusive Access".Creating a new module called "VitalSource Inclusive Access" in the content section of a Brightspace course
  2. Select the pulldown menu for Existing Activities, and select External Learning Tools.The Existing Activites menu in the VitalSource Inclusive Access module, with External Learning Tools option highlighted
  3. Select the VitalSource e-text link from the Add Activity screen.Selecting the VitalSource E-Textbook option in the Add Activity menu.
  4. The link is now installed in your course. When the link is clicked, students should be able to access the chosen title.Course materials are now accessible using the VitalSource link in Brightspace.
