Announcements - Edit an Announcement

Overview

The purpose of this document is to demonstrate how to edit existing Announcements in Brightspace.

Instructions

  1. Log into Brightspace and enter your course.
  2. On the course navigation bar, click on Course Tools then select the Announcements tool.

  3. Locate the announcement that you want to update, click on the drop-down arrow next to its title, and select the Edit option.

  4. If you are working in a live course, when editing an announcement, you can choose to check the box for Major Edit.  This allows your announcement to be treated as new; it will be visible to those who previously dismissed this announcement and will also send a notification to your students.

  5. Make your changes and click on the Update button.  If you used any links in a previous announcement to point to Course Content, you may need to recreate these.
