Alumni Data Recovery Request

Important changes are coming to your SUNY Oswego Google account on September 22, 2025. On this date, your access to some Google services will end, and new storage limits will be applied. Your immediate attention is required.

Here's what you need to know and the actions you need to take:

  • Google Workspace Access Ends: After the deadline, you will no longer have access to your full SUNY Oswego Google Workspace. This includes Google Drive, Google Photos, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. Gmail service will continue. You must download or transfer any files you want to keep from Google Drive and Google Photos to a personal account before Sept. 22.

  • YouTube account and branding: Sept. 22, the YouTube service will be turned off.

  • Gmail Storage Quota Applied: A 15GB storage quota will be applied to your SUNY Oswego Gmail account. If your email storage exceeds this limit, you could face service restrictions until you bring it under the quota. We highly recommend you begin cleaning out your Gmail now to avoid any disruptions.

If you do not get your files deleted or moved from Google Drive by the deadline, they will be removed. If you do not get your photos transferred out of and/or deleted in full from Google Photos by the deadline, you will not be in compliance with our Alumni Email-Only policy, and your account will be suspended and then deleted permanently.

To help you with this process, please review the "Storage Quotas" section of our Alumni Account FAQs for options on how to remove or transfer your files and reduce your Gmail storage.
