The alumni email account renewal process ended on Jan. 10, 2025. If you were unable to make the renewal in that timeframe, you may only recover data from your account. Please see below for further information.
As noted in previous communications, Google Drive, Photos, and Sites services associated with your account ends starting Monday, Feb. 17.
- Disabling of the above services will be a gradual process over the course of a couple of weeks beginning on Feb. 17 and ending Feb. 28. These services will be disabled for your account at some point during this period.
- Please review your files in Google Drive, Photos, and Sites and download any you wish to keep or transfer them to a personal Gmail account as soon as possible.
What do I need to do?
If you haven’t already made plans for saving any files you wish to keep, please do so as soon as possible. You may either download them or transfer them to a personal Gmail account. More info is also available in the “Storage Quotas” section of our Alumni Account FAQs.
What happens if I don’t get my files deleted or moved by the deadline?
- If your account is over quota (15GB), your entire SUNY Oswego account will end up being removed by the system including all data (email and files).
- If you are under quota but still have files in Drive and Photos, those files will end up being removed. Gmail service only will continue to be available.
- If you did not fully remove all Photo data, your account may be suspended.
You may request access to transfer the data from your account to a personal Google account by clicking Request account reactivation on this page. This request will be reviewed, and access to transfer the data from the account will be provided for a short period of time before the account will be re-suspended.
What if I am unable to log into my Oswego Email?
If you are no longer able to login to your Oswego email, your account may have been suspended on Jan. 10, 2025 due to non-renewal, or you may have been over the 15GB quota or still have Photos data as of Feb. 17, 2025. You may request access to transfer the data from your account to a personal Google account by filling out the Alumni Data Recovery request form. This request will be reviewed, and access to transfer the data from the account will be provided for a short period of time before the account will be re-suspended.
What are my next steps?
If you are having trouble accessing your account, please use the Alumni Data Recovery request form to obtain assistance.
