How to Connect your Device to the Residential Wired Network

Overview

These instructions are for Oswego faculty, staff, and students who live in residential buildings and want to connect their devices using a wired connection.

Instructions

For desktop computers, and laptops connecting to the wired network:

1) Review the setup changes needed on your device
2) Once you connect the device to the ethernet port you will be prompted to enter your Laker NetID and Laker NetID Password, then you’ll be connected!

For gaming and streaming devices to use the wired network you’ll need to register them using these instructions before connecting. Instead of using the Wireless MAC Address, you’ll want to use the Wired/Ethernet MAC address. If you’ve connected this device wirelessly you’ll need to also unregister the wireless MAC address and forget the wireless connection on the device.
