Using Brightspace Student View

Overview

The Student View in Brightspace gives you an approximation of what a student will see in your course.

Tips

Before beginning, there are a few things to be aware of:

  • The student view will allow you to practice submitting assignments and Discussions, but previewing quizzes is done through the faculty view.

  • All work that is done in a preview mode is lost when you leave the preview.  Brightspace does not allow you to maintain or grade work when you leave the student view.

  • The Student View and Faculty View have different toolbars and options. For example, Course Tools is not visible to students.

  • The documentation created by Brightspace may not match what faculty and students at SUNY Oswego will see.

Instructions

  1. Log into Brightspace and enter your course.

  2. In the upper right corner of the screen, click on your name, and then click View as OSW - Student (Non-Cascading).
