Overview
The Student View in Brightspace gives you an approximation of what a student will see in your course.
Tips
Before beginning, there are a few things to be aware of:
-
The student view will allow you to practice submitting assignments and Discussions, but previewing quizzes is done through the faculty view.
-
All work that is done in a preview mode is lost when you leave the preview. Brightspace does not allow you to maintain or grade work when you leave the student view.
-
The Student View and Faculty View have different toolbars and options. For example, Course Tools is not visible to students.
-
The documentation created by Brightspace may not match what faculty and students at SUNY Oswego will see.
Instructions
-
Log into Brightspace and enter your course.
-
In the upper right corner of the screen, click on your name, and then click View as OSW - Student (Non-Cascading).

-
To exit the student view, click on your name again, and then click on the X to the left of Viewing as OSW - Student (Non-Cascading).
