Setting Up Secure Jobs on HP LaserJet MFP M577

Overview

This article details how to set up secure printing on an HP LaserJet MFP M577.

1. Press the Windows key on the keyboard

2. Type Printers and click on Printers & scanners

3. Click Manage

5. Click Job Storage

6. First, In Job Storage Mode, click Personal Job. Second, in Make Job Private/Secure, use the dropdown box to select Encrypt Job (with password). Third, click Apply.

7. Enter the Password of your choice in the Password field. Then in the Confirm field, type the password again. Then the Red KeyIcon will turn Green when the passwords match. Check the Save as default password box to store this password for future print jobs and click OK.

8. If done correctly, you should see a popup notification similar to the following. If preferred, you can check the box not to see these notifications in the future.

At The Printer

1. Touch Retrieve from Device Memory

2. Find the folder with your name and touch it.

3. Touch the job you want to print

4. Enter the Password you chose on your computer.

5. First, check to see if the number of Copies is what you need. Second, touch the green Retrieve from Device Memory banner to print the job.

6. After clicking the Green Retrieve from Device Memory banner, the printer will automatically delete the stored job.
