How To Connect to Wi-Fi as a Guest

Overview

This article outlines instructions for visitors who wish to connect to the Oswego-Guest (in the academic buildings) or the Oswego-Guest-RES (in the residential buildings) networks. 

  • Visitor Access - Visitors to our campus can connect to the campus WiFi with no SUNY Oswego credentials or prior setup necessary and will have access for 24 hours until reactivation is needed. 
  • Sponsored - Guest speakers, conference attendees, invited vendors and contractors will log in with pre-arranged login credentials. Please consult with your SUNY Oswego faculty or staff sponsor for login information. Access is 5 days default/365 days maximum.

Note: This network has the following limitations:

  • These connections will function well with low bandwidth activities such as checking email and general Web surfing. 
  • It will allow web-based Internet access only (port 80 & 443) and is not recommended for secure communications.  
  • High bandwidth connections such as streaming video and audio will have severely degraded performance. It cannot be used to stream videos over Netflix, etc.
