How to Find the MAC Address of a Device

Overview

This article outlines what a device's MAC address is and how a user can find the MAC address for their device(s).

Instructions

Similar to how every house on a street has an address where they can receive mail, every device on a network has a MAC address.

The MAC address on a device is unique, and devices that have the ability to connect to wired and wireless networks may have two MAC addresses. If you’re connecting wirelessly you’ll want to locate the Wireless MAC address. If you're connecting with an Ethernet cable, you’ll want to locate the Wired MAC address.

There are different ways of finding the MAC Address depending on the device you are using. The instructions for doing so are outlined in the articles mentioned below:
