Licence Requests

Students

All students are provided with a Zoom student account. To access yours, sign in to Zoom using your SUNY Oswego credentials.

Students cannot directly request an individual Zoom Pro license. These are the options based on your needs:

  • Academic Need (Class or Program):

    • The instructor must submit the request on the student's behalf.

  • Student Clubs & Organizations:

    • Club Advisors are automatically provisioned with Zoom Pro accounts. Advisors should schedule meetings and assign club officers as Co-Hosts.

    • Advisers can share meeting recordings and transcripts with club leaders, as well as manage access to AI Companion features.

  • All Other Uses:

Teaching / Non-Teaching Employees

All teaching employees are automatically assigned a Zoom Pro license and do not need to request one for themselves. Please use the form below if you are a non-teaching employee or requesting a licence on behalf of someone else.

User Guide

2. Starting or Joining a Meeting

3. Inviting others to join a meeting

Note: Use the authentication settings to secure internal meetings, or turn it off when hosting guests who lack campus login credentials.

4. Muting/Unmuting participants

5. Ending Meeting
  ● Select “End Meeting” (lower right)
          ○ Select End meeting for all if the meeting is complete.
          ○ If the meeting is not over, you will need to assign the host to someone else before you can “leave the meeting.”

6. Scheduling Meetings

For Instructors:

7. Recording Meetings

 ● Once the meeting has begun, Select “Record” (lower right-center area).
● Select “Stop Recording” when finished with the meeting or just end the meeting entirely.
● You can choose to save the recording on your computer or in the "cloud”.

○ Computer: The recording is saved as an mp4 file and stored in your Documents folder. You can choose from audio-only or both audio and video (3 choices).
○ Cloud: The recording is saved to your Zoom account under Recordings. You can either choose to download the file to any computer you would like, share it with others, or make it public so the people you’re sharing with can view it right on Zoom’s site.
