Overview
From time to time, something may go wrong with machines in a lab.
Instructions
Lab Machine Broken?
- Contact Us!
- Let us know right away through TeamDynamix. Please be as specific as possible.
- Tell us what machine it is (include the SUNY ID #), what the problem is, and when it happened. This way we can promptly fix the problem.
- Include all information that you wrote on the out-of-order sign in your e-mail. If this is an emergency, such as an instructor's station that is required for class, please call the Help Desk at X3456.
- Put an "Out of Order" sign on the machine (Pink Slip)
- Mark all categories on the pink slip and tape it to the monitor of the machine. That way students are aware that the machine should not be used and the staff member will be able to find the machine easier.
- The more detailed you are in filling out the sign, the more efficient the staff member can be with fixing it.
- If your lab is out of signs, make one up on blank paper following the same format as the pre-made sign.
Printers Issue?
If there is a paper jam:
- Open up the top of the printer and look inside to see if you notice any paper caught there. If there is, remove it.
- If the paper jam is not there, pull out the paper trays and take a look there. The last place to check would be the duplexer at the back of the printer.
- If the paper is someplace that you cannot reach:
- Email the cla-list or call the Help Desk at X3456.
- Put an out-of-order sign on the printer.
- Direct users to the next closest lab which has printing available.
