Overview
This document contains instructions for how to find the wireless and wired Machine Address Code (MAC address) for the following operating systems:
Overall, the instructions are divided into sections for:
Instructions
- Click on the Wifi symbol and select Open Network Preferences....


- Select Wi-Fi (or Airport in Mac OS X 10.6) from the left panel. Then, click Advanced in the bottom right hand corner.

- Select the Wi-Fi tab. The MAC address will be listed as the Wi-Fi Address.

- Go to Apple Menu >> System Preferences.

- Click Network at the top portion of the window.

- Click Ethernet on the left. Click the Advanced button.

- Click the Ethernet tab and the MAC address will be listed as 'Ethernet ID'.

- Go to Apple Menu >> System Preferences.

- Click Network at the top portion of the window.

- Click Ethernet on the left. Then, click the Advanced button.

- Click the Hardware tab and the MAC address will be the first piece of information listed.

The MAC address will be in the following format: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx.
