Zoom: Setting up for synchronous class meetings

Overview

The Zoom add-on tool in Brightspace allows you to create an individual Zoom meeting accessible only to students enrolled in your course. This article provides instructions on how to set up your Zoom class meeting.

Instructions

  1. In Brightspace, navigate to the desired course.
  2. Click Content - located on the course navigation bar.

  3. On the left side under Table of Content, click on Add a module.... Enter the module's name, such as Zoom Classroom.

  4. Click the Existing Activities button; select External Learning Tools.

  5. In the Add Activity box, click Zoom-OSW.

  6. Click Zoom - OSW.

  7. Click Schedule a New Meeting.

    1. When: Enter the first class date and time
    2. Duration: Class length
    3. Select Recurring meeting
      1. Recurrence: Weekly
      2. Repeat every: 1 week
      3. Occurs on: select class days
      4. End Date: By <last class date>

    4. Registration: DO NOT select
    5. Security: DO NOT select Passcode
    6. Audio: Leave default Telephone and Computer Audio
    7. Meeting Options: Select options as desired except for Record the meeting automatically. Selecting the record automatically option will capture all pre-class chatter.
    8. Click Save.
