This article is a step-by-step guide on how to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app on a phone
Instructions
1. On a laptop or desktop computer, go to the Microsoft Opt-In Login page to log in to your account. Make sure you are logging in from a laptop or desktop computer as you will need to scan a QR code on it from your smartphone.
2. After you log in, you will be prompted to set up your MFA options. Select "Setup Authenticator app".
3. You should see a message in the browser window that looks like this with a QR code.
4. Now go from your laptop/desktop and switch to your phone and download the free Microsoft Authenticator app. Open the app. Accept the privacy terms.
5. Select Add Account.
6. Select Work or school account.
5. Select Scan a QR Code.
6. Scan the code on your computer screen with your phone. A message will appear a few seconds later saying the account setup is successful.
