How to Make a Listserv Public or Private

Overview

If there is a list on List Serve that is not being displayed on ls.oswego.edu then the list is private or does not exist.

To access the list or check to see if it exists, append the name of the list onto the URL (ex. https://ls.oswego.edu/mailman/admin/my-list). If the list does not exist, there will be red text on the top of the page stating so. If it does exist, the user will need a List Serve administrator to access it.

To make the list public, after entering the administrator password for the list, the user must go to privacy options and select the option to "advertise" the list (see screenshot below).
