Overview
This resource will show you how to upload content directly into Brightspace from your local computer. Any file that is on your computer can be uploaded, but your students must have the corresponding program to read it, so using commonly used programs like Word is best outside of course specific needs. If you want to scan in material to upload, it is strongly recommended that you speak with your subject matter librarian about copyright and for assistance in making the scan accessible.
Instructions
To Upload a File:
-
Go to Content on the Green bar at the top of the screen.

-
Click the Blue button labelled Upload / Create.

-
From the Options that appear, select Upload Files.

-
On the pop-up that appears, the majority of the time you will click My Computer. You can either drag and drop the file into the marked space, or click the grey Upload button to manually locate the file. Use whichever option is most convenient.
-
You can upload multiple files at one time. Each of these will create their own link.
-
Click the blue Add button to save the files.
-
To replace an existing File, locate it and use the pull down chevron to select Change File. Click the Blue Update button when done.
-
Upload your new File. Note: Files can only be replaced, not edited, within Brightspace.
