Overview

Campus Technology Services - Telecommunications provides telephony and technician services for all employees and campus-affiliated programs. Telephony services include local, long-distance and international calling, call centers, voicemail, panic buttons, and call detail records. Technician services include small ethernet, coaxial, or fiber based cabling and terminations, consulting, and troubleshooting.

To find contact information for SUNY Oswego students, employees and departments, you may use our online PeopleSearch.

1. Can I pay my bill over the internet?

Only check or credit card payments will be accepted. We are a cashless operation.

To make a credit card payment on your telephone bill, please navigate to:

2. How can I get a campus directory?

You can utilize our PeopleSearch utility to search for people and/or department contact information.

You can utilize your desk phone to search for people and/or department contact information by pressing "directories" and then "5"(Corporate Directory)

3. I can't place a call off-campus.

Possible Solution: You are placing the call incorrectly.

To dial off-campus, dial 9, the number (including 1 if outside the 315 area code).

4. My voicemail doesn’t pick up.

Possible Solution #1: Your voice mailbox hasn't been created yet.

Voice mailboxes are created 24 hours after you've signed up for voicemail.

Possible Solution #2: Your voice mailbox hasn't been initialized.
Pick up your handset and dial x3383 and follow the recorded instructions.

If the problem still persists, call the Help Desk at x3456 or email at help@oswego.edu.

5. How do I find out how much Print Quota I have?

You can check your available print Quota online. Go to the My Print Center site and login with your Laker NetID. This will show your funds available, job activity and past activity.

6. How do I purchase more Print Quota?

You can purchase more Print Quota in $5.00 increments online via Cashnet at: https://commerce.cashnet.com/oswegoempay?cname=telecom. When using Cashnet, please allow 2 business days for your print quota to be added to your account.

7. How do I configure and use my voicemail account?

Refer to the Cisco Voicemail User Guide.

8. How do I stop forwarding my campus phone to my cell since I'm back on campus?

If you press the "CFwdAll" soft key slightly below the phone screen it will end your call forwarding to your cell.

9. Where can I get Scantron sheets and exams scored?

An instructor can have their multiple-choice Scantron exams scored at the CTS Help Desk located at 26 Lanigan Hall as a self-service model as of May 27, 2025. Scantron test scoring service will relocate from 102 Culkin Hall to the new location and be available during the Help Desk’s normal business hours.

When you stop by the Help Desk to score your tests, we will direct you to a private room equipped with the scoring technology, allowing you to scan and score tests within minutes.

Help Desk staff are conveniently located next to the scoring room to guide you through using the equipment if needed. Detailed instructions are also posted within the room, currently available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Any outstanding tests that have already been dropped off in Culkin will be scored, and the physical tests will be campus-mailed back to you.

10. What are the Billing Charges?

Line Charge - The cost of an extension

External Line Charge - The cost of an extension to a non-state entity

Fax Charge - The cost of a fax service

2-line Device Charge - The cost of having a single or two-line deskphone (Models 6921, 7942, 7945)

6/8-line Device Charge - The cost of having a six or eight-line deskphone (Model 7962, 7965, 7975)

Sidecar Charge - The cost of having an 12/24 button expansion module

Voicemail - The cost of having a voicemail

Panic Line - The cost of having a panic button on one’s deskphone

Cell Phone Charge - The cost of owning a phone with calling, SMS, and data (Smartphones)

Basic Cell Phone charge - The cost of owning a phone with calling and SMS (Flip-phone)
