Summary
This resource will show you how to link to content outside of Brightspace (ie.g. www.bbc.com). If you are linking inside Brightspace, it is better to use the Quicklink tool in the HTML Editor in the Create a File (Web Page) tool. Some specific tool links for things like Textbooks are already built into the system, so that is worth checking within the publisher.
Body
Overview
Use this tool to link to websites outside of Brightspace. It is ideal for directing learners to resources that are not practical to bring into the LMS while allowing the content to remain in its original context.
Note:
- This will take students outside the LMS, so they will need to return to due assignments and such.
-
Many websites are designed to capture users' attention and encourage them to keep clicking (e.g.youtube.com). When appropriate, consider whether content would be more effective if embedded directly into an internal page using the HTML editor, allowing students to stay focused within the course environment.
Instructions
To Create a Link:
-
Go to Content on the Green bar at the top of the screen.

-
Click the Blue button labelled Upload / Create.

-
On the page that appears, give your Link a Title.
-
