Body

Within the web interface of Google Mail, you may find a need to download multiple emails and associated attachments for a project, documentation or other purposes. This guide will take you through a quick process to demonstrate how to get those files.

1.  First, go into your Google Email account and filter for the group of emails and attachments you want.  Check the boxes for the group of messages you want to save.  Then click the 3-dot button as shown in the example below and click "Forward as Attachment":

NOTE:  There may be a limitation on how easily you can do this in any single step due to a maximum of 50 messages displayed on a screen at once.

2.  Once you click the FORWARD option, it will bring up a "Compose Email" window with the attachments added.  Send this to your own email address, as shown below:

3.  Once you send the email to yourself it will appear in your own Inbox. Open the message and you will see a set of attachments in the message. Click the option to "Download all Attachments" - this will then save a ZIP (.zip) file locally to your computer.

4.  Once you have the ZIP file, unzip it on your computer and you should see a group of files present.  EML files are the email messages, and then you should see your attachments in whatever format those are (such as csv, txt, jpg, etc).  You can then copy those files to wherever you need to retain them.
