Overview
The Disability Support Services (DSS) office uses these 5 stations for student exams. Students log in with their own credentials but must be able to print to the department’s Konica Bizhub.
-
Station Hostnames: MCC-155-01 through MCC-155-05
-
Location/OU: Lab OU on authenticated ports.
-
Network: Assigned to the FacStaff IP range to allow communication with the DSS Bizhub.
Software Requirements
-
Premier Literacy 18: Located at \\cts-fs1\dml\Windows\Accessibility Suite\Premier Literacy 18.
-
Dependency: Requires .NET Framework 3.5 to be enabled/installed.
-
Base Image: Use the "DSS Image" created by Jon Goodsell (listed in the MEM image flow).
Printer Installation (System-Wide)
Because students use unique accounts, the printer must be mapped via LPR to ensure it is available for all users on the machine.
Step 1: Enable LPR Port Monitor
-
Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
-
Select Turn Windows features on or off.
-
Expand Print and Document Services.
-
Check LPR Port Monitor (Note: LPD Print Service is generally only needed if the PC is acting as a print server but can be enabled if the image requires it).
-
Click OK and restart if prompted.
Step 2: Add the LPR Printer
-
Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
-
Select Add device > Add manually.
-
Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click Next.
-
Select Create a new port and choose LPR Port from the dropdown.
-
Configure Port:
-
Driver Selection: Use the Konica Bizhub Universal Driver.
-
Printer Name: DSS Konica Bizhub Copier 224e

-
Logic: The LPR/LPD method was chosen specifically to bypass the limitations of mapping per-user printers in a lab environment where students lack permissions to add their own devices.
