Ally’s course accessibility report includes Overview and Content tabs so that you can get the big picture as well as specific details about the accessibility of your digital course content.

Overview

Ally’s course accessibility report includes Overview and Content tabs so that you can get the big picture as well as specific details about the accessibility of your digital course content.

  • The Overview tab shows the accessibility score for the course, course content grouped by content type, and a list of all issues identified in the course
  • The Content tab shows you the content with accessibility issues.

Course Accessibility Checker

The widget is located on each course's home page. It includes an image showing the course's overall accessibility score and a link to launch the Full Accessibility Report.

  • Click Launch Full Accessibility Report (opens in a new tab)

Accessibility score

The report includes an accessibility score for the entire course.

Scores range from Low to Perfect. The higher the score the fewer the issues.

  • low indicator gear - gear color is red with the indicator arrow pointing left of centerLow (0-33%): Needs help! There are severe accessibility issues.

  • medium indicator gear - gear color is orange with the indicator in the middleMedium (34-66%): A little better. The file is somewhat accessible and needs improvement.

  • high indicator gear - green color gear with the indicator arrow right of centerHigh (67-99%): Almost there. The file is accessible but more improvements are possible.

  • perfect indicator gear - green gear with the indicator arrow pointing to the bottom right sidePerfect (100%): Perfect! Ally didn't identify any accessibility issues BUT further improvements may still be possible.

All course content

All the content in your course is grouped by content type.

  • View to go to the Content tab which lists all course content.
    • Currently, Ally checks files in these formats:
      • PDF files
      • Microsoft Word files
      • Microsoft PowerPoint files
      • HTML files (web pages)
      • Image files

Choose what to fix first

Use the report to help decide what to fix first. For example, you could address content with the most severe issues first or start with the content that's easiest to fix.

Choose between Content with the easiest issues to fix  and Fix low scoring content. Each indicates how many items need to be fixed. 

Select Start.
