Instructions

  1. Go to the VitalSource link in your course.

  2. You will be taken to the course dashboard, where you'll see all the materials that have been paired with your courses. You will also be able to see your inclusive access opt-in or opt-out status. Students are automatically opted into inclusive access materials since they have been selected by your instructor and are included in your course fees or tuition, which typically saves students money. Inclusive access materials are also available on or before the first day of class. For these reasons, it is highly recommended you stay opted in. However, if you still want to opt out for any reason, you can click the opt-out button. Under the link to the course materials, click on the "Want to opt out?" button.

  3. Select the reason for the opt-out pulldown, then select opt out.
    Confirm your opt out window

You may opt back in up until the opt-out deadline. This will be the same day as the last day to drop a course for the semester (date is referenced in the academic calendar) or 1 week after the start of a summer or winter session course. After the opt-out deadline, students who have opted out will no longer have access to the course materials. If you wish to purchase the course material through the Bookstore, you may add the material to your cart and check out as a guest.
