Software Center for PC

1. Open the Start Menu (or press the Windows key). 
2. Type "Software Center" and select the app from the search results. 

The Applications available to install are shown to the right as tiles within the Applications tab. The company name and version number appear below the title. Use the buttons in the upper right to switch between Multi-Select Mode, Tile View and List View. By default, available applications are listed in chronological order, with the newest items at the top left. Recent additions are marked with a "New" badge. Use the Sort by pop-up menu at the top to organize the list. Click an application tile to select it for installation instructions. There is an Installation Status tab to view applications currently installed, pending, and failed installations.

Click the software icon to review the application description and to install.

Note: Some installations require a computer reboot to complete the process, such as Oswego Print.

Note: Some applications do not allow you to Reinstall or Uninstall, or are required on your computer. Submit a CTS App Store Request to request assistance.

Available when installing/updating software with the CTS App Store is unavailable. This will give standard users elevated access, which will be used to download software that a user may need. This access is temporary and will last 15 minutes. During this time, you should install the software needed. After your request is approved, follow these directions: 

       PC: 

1. Open the Software Center application.

2. Go to CTS Sync to reinstall.

3. In the left-hand search bar, type "Elevate My Access."

4. Click the "Elevate My Access" icon.

5. Click "Install" to install the application

Using Elevate My Access:

1. in the Windows Start menu find "Elevate My Access" and launch it.
2. When the Elevate My Access window opens, click on "Elevate My Access".
3. This will provide you with 15 minutes to run the application with elevated rights.  
4. If the application is completed with installation and 15 minutes has not elapsed yet, you can remove elevation by double clicking the Elevate My Access icon in the system tray, and then click "Remove Elevate My Access".

Some apps will have available updates using the Software Center in the "Applications" tab. Some apps will update on their own, with options to automatically update after closing the app, such as Microsoft Office and Chrome. The "Updates" tab is not currently being used.

Note: Some applications require manual updates. Please contact CTS for further assistance.

If you would like to uninstall an application that you cannot do yourself, submit a CTS App Store Request. 

In Software Center under Applications, select Request an App to launch the service request link or submit a CTS App Store Request. A SUNY Oswego login is required.
