Overview
This article assumes you have Google MFA already set up; if you still need to set up Google MFA, please refer to Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
This document walks you through getting Google MFA one-time use Backup Codes used in place of other MFA methods. These codes should only be used if you have trouble using other verification methods.
Instructions
- Sign in to your Oswego email account.

- Once signed in, on the top right side of the page, click on your profile picture.

- Click "Manage your Google Account."

- Next click on "Security" on the left navigation

- Under the "How you sign in to Google" click "Backup Codes"

- Click "+ Get backup codes"

- You will now have 10 Backup Codes where you can "Print codes" or "Download codes" to use at a later time.
- To see how many Backup codes you have remaining, follow steps 2 and 3 and next to "Backup codes" you will see "codes available " with a number remaining.

*Note* If you run out of the one-time use codes, follow these steps again to generate new ones.
