How to Upload a Video to Your LakerApps YouTube Account

Overview

  • Ensure the video is stored locally on the computer you are using.
  • Ensure the video is in a format YouTube accepts.

Instructions

  1.  While logged into LakerApps Gmail with your SUNY Oswego email account, click the App Launcher icon (the matrix of 9 dots) in the top right of the page. Scroll down until you see "YouTube" listed and then click on it.

  2.  A new window/tab will open showing your SUNY Oswego YouTube account. Click on the "Create" icon that looks like a film projector. in the upper right of the window select "Upload Video."

  3.  If this is your first time uploading a video to YouTube, you will be asked to create your YouTube channel. Click the "Get Started" button.

  4.  You will then be asked how you'd like to name your YouTube channel. Again, you will only be presented with this if you have never uploaded a video to YouTube before.

  5.   Once your channel has been created, you will be presented with a window to upload your video. Click the "Upload Video" button.

  6.  A new window will open where you can either drag and drop the video file(s) or find them using the "Select Files" button.

  7.  When you have chosen the video(s) you want to upload, you will be presented with options to give it more detail. Fill in the fields as you'd like and proceed to the next one by clicking the "Next" button.

  8. Eventually, your video will be published and you will be presented with a window saying so along with the link to the video.  Copy the video link.  Click the "Close" button.

  9. You will be returned to your YouTube "Home" tab where your video is now listed. If you ever forget the link to the video or want to change some of the details, just click the video from the "Home" tab and you'll be presented with the link as well as the fields to adjust the details.
     
  10. You can use your video's link elsewhere to embed it into other content.
